use the reason of being exhausted to stop healing from the church, and now that the populace is almost solely dependent on said healing they'll start complaining and causing problems. plant a few people here and there to make people think the cause of all the problems is the recent change in the system and start a good olé coup de ta. overthrow the current "head saint" as well as the queen and overtly passive king and have lector and anise take over. with the bond between the new head saint and king reestablish equality between the monarchy and the church and let the system go back to normal without the idiots who were once leading it.
