Nah, this story is way too mild for that... It's like this most likely because the author can't/don't want to come up with a more intricate drama, so they are sticking to make that bitch as annoying as hell while the MCs are powerless, so they can stretch the story as much as possible.

Why would you try to save someone who never asked for help? Do not try to judge the medieval time with modern time standards. And this part of the story perfectly describes this mentality of ours! 100/10 on the psychological kick!
