As much as I want to agree, they are useful in two aspects. 1. They act as a walking repository of information/common sense for the mc. 2. They have scout/rogue type skills that the mc currently doesn't have access to.

Just reread the entire series and fell in love with it again. Hope the lady catches up to them though.

There was some foreshadowing. Not to mention this is a chronic problem from other's perspectives.

Would not be surprised if they set it up. B/c the last was what it was, people are going to get more attached to this kid. Don't know what they are going to do with them but should keep it in mind.
