From what I can tell that is exactly what he is saying. If someone is captured though, or worse, all that teamwork goes to shit and no one can think rationaly. Good in concept but bad in practice, even worse in practice if multiple people start competing over the same person.

I read this story because I wanted to refute the bullshit you were spouting. Little did I know this would become one of my top 3 favorites of all time precisely because of that feeling I discarded as a falsity.

Would be awesome if it was an ally. Even if we assume they are an evil god, that god could use MC to usurp the 12 God's powers or something. I can't really see a situation where a hidden 13th god would be hostile.

This is how I see each of them at this point. If I had to pick, I would say 3 is best because it seems as if their Con is the most likely to be resolved. With that being said, none are completely good options but I'm rooting for 3.
Option 1 - The Duke. Pro: Money, Wealth, Fame, etc. Con: He will never love "her", at most loving "Ash".
Option 2 - The Guard. Pro: Clearly Cares for her and will do what he can in his means. Con: His duty will come before his love
Option 3 - The Magician. Pro: Does/will love the "True MC" and has the to help her in ways no one else can. Con: Might suicide in order to keep balance in the world.

Out of all levels it could be, that has to be the most petty. That is the level I would expect from borrowing a pen from a classmate and returning it without ink.

At least tell me what his plan is. If he still doesn't have a plan after all she told him, this is him sacrificing without gain again.

It could also be an either-or situation too. For the hundred dudes they are just drained but it might lower efficiency or something, Sect leader being someone worthy enough to get rid of any inefficiency.

If they are a good quality GM I honestly don't mind it at all but I do understand the frustration.
