It's a good story. Characters are great and carry it.

Adapted from a novel series of the same name. I recommend listening to the audiobook version, Jeff Hays does a great job voicing everyone, yes even the cat.

I hope Dahan, the author, learned a lot from this and can make something better next time. It was ok. Loved the concept, and the FL. Never felt like there was any chemistry between the leads though. Needed a few more seasons for the ML to grow, and become a person. Death of the fairies should have been a good moment for that, but instead he acted like a rock.

Felix just kind of sucks as a ML.

There's something wrong about Felix being as emotional as a rock, and just focused on the FL, when two people he knew for who knows how long just died. Meanwhile the FL is bawling her eyes out after having known them for like a few months.

Did they dissolve into mana or something?

Not sure about cold, might be necessary to get the CO2 to liquefy, but definitely high pressure.
Usually you make water hotter to more easily blend things into it. Which is why when sweet tea is at or below room temp it is super saturated with sugar.
