  It's not that he can't use them properly its just tie to lazy to care. And he did say that centuries or millenia ago was motivated to learn everything so he mingled with humans back then. But as he said its been more than a 150 years since he last head tto use his power properly

  I don't see how it's a nerf, he just ate the hero at the start of the manga- He's strong sure but not skilled in magic that would do anything other than hurt people. Doesn't make him less op, it just makes it easier to place obstacles in his way- He went beserk and attacked his loyal maid, now he can't fight his way out of that (or be a lazy bum and procrastinate on the group project)
  
  Also this really might have been the first time she confessed and was rejected, so yeah if you confessed and then suddenly the person you liked tried to kill you i think crying at your bestie's house for a few days is appropriate

      Don't get me wrong, i hate when characters use love potions etc to brainwash people. I dropped another story because of that, i'm just saying objectively that the way to place barriers in a story for "op characters" is to make them use their head in situations they can't just "beat someone up" to solve the problem.
      
      I- honestly never believed that any type of "love magic" would work on this guy in the first place, and it was set up for the most part that it was fake. I'm annoyed but fine with this as opposed to the other story because it
      A. Didn't work on the OP Mc
      B. Was never intended to work
      C. The character doing it didn't get away scot free

        Except the mc got so angry because the item was a killing item. MC saw it as betrayal when she tried using it on him. She's wrong on all sides from trying to enchant him and not noticing it was a killing item

        I'm not saying she's justified in what she did, just that it was set up in a way where it's not annoying. But if he really wants her to continue working there, seeing how they have a relationship of +80 years, then he has to actually go say something instead of letting her exile herself
        
        I know she's wrong, i don't like what she did, i'm just saying this is a problem he can't punch his way out of
