yea, and it is nice that its brought up in story while also having an easy-to-hate 'early' enemy besides just monsters and paints the guilds as gray instead of good since even the good ones did almost nothing to go after the fiends unless one was caught in the open

I feel like removing that curse at this point was a gamble since if the curse had been the thing letting him go basically non stop for the days (weeks?) since this all started and it was suddenly gone, he could have just collapsed out of all that exhaustion catching up to him at once and it would have been better to remove it after dealing with the snake

they already defeated an evil god (the vampire one where nebula got his apostle first) so they know they can be defeated
nebula on the other hand was the #1 player for the game thats similar to the world and had a very low loss rate, meaning that after they realized the evil gods were a thing but can be killed, he is the bigger threat BC they dont know how to beat him effectively if its 1v1
flaming armor dude at the start of the story is prob the only one who could beat nebula in a 1v1 since he was in top 10 but i dont remember if he was #2
