i remember 1 story where the 'middle management' was corrupt by helping local gangs with trafficking drugs and weapons but the higher ups knew and let it slide because thanks to that 'corruption' the gangs left the church and its followers alone and didnt touch anyone or anything on the church grounds so they could have completely safe orphanage's in the middle of the slums and after learning that and that the top knew but also looked the other way for the results he did the same

im not 100, but from what i do know it is actually worse
frequently gangs will actually groom kids to do horrible stuff for them since most asian countries are very lenient on minors (barely a slap on the wrist, identities hidden in trial, and all records purged when they turn 18) and the kids realize this so they do really really horrible stuff
good example is what happened Junko Furuta (she is japanese, but japan is a tame version of other asian nations extremes thanks to western relationships)

since it seems like this story is merging WWI and WWII (since in earth russia pulled out of WWI during the communist revolution, but in this they went into the war after their revolution) i wonder if this worlds Japan will get involved eventually?
i can see the author dragging the story out using them where the US gets openly involved in the war but then Japan attacks and diverts their attention, Tanya seeing this as an opportunity to try and rush finish the communist front and at least kills the fat bastard

from my best guess, they were basically doing a 'run on the bank' kinda scam on a global scale
trying to destroy peoples belief and value in other currencies by making a new one that was backed with a massive amount of gold and make yuan the #1 currency
then likely ripping it all down with something like 'we dont actually have almost any gold' so the global economy collapses entirely

a semi-permanent mana bubble that has the properties of oobleck is busted as hell since he has mana about on par with the goddess (dont remember if it was stated how close he is to her level, but i remember he is like 8 or 9 demon lords worth at least)
if anyone didnt know of the bubble, or just didnt get lucky, he might as well be immortal

i mean for a long time in ancient china it was partly mandated and partly respected to do so since at the time you could only get high ranking gov positions if you were with the thinking that if you didnt and couldnt have kids or sexual urges you would be a lot more fair in your judgments, but that turned out to be false and they were even MORE biased than if they still had it lol
