There's something that came up in my head after this chapter.
If the first things that the assassin thought of when dealing with Jelly dying but coming back was not possession by monster (even though demons may exist in this world, as seen by the father scene), that begs the question:
Has no one really ever noticed even one guy that went missing and came back slightly different, actually being a slime possessing a dead body? If so, then that means that all slimes that managed to replace their human hosts did a great job at integrating themselves and not getting caught. At this point we must all ask then, how many people we've met are actually human, and how many of them are slimes? THIS IS A SERIOUS QUESTION I'M NOT CRAZY

Notice how her future wasn't changed by her actions, but by the actions of others. What did she do, when she was given the prophecy of her death, to mitigate this? Nihilism. She just kept on living without taking active care to survive. Through her innaction, that is, the action of just accepting her fate, she was going to die. It was through the king that she managed to change fate, not by her choice or actions. Now, she is trying to actively prevent fate. What if the premonitions are self fufilling ONLY by her hand? If she interveines, it makes it happen? Her power isn't to tell the future, it's to receive self fufilling prophecies that need her input to be made true.
