I know what happens a lot in general I just haven't seen this specific premise of "I got sent back in time to become an idol in this competition" that often so it surprised me when I saw it again so soon after seeing it for the first time.

It's always a bummer when they do a big build up for the main character going full aggro and then it just amounts to nothing because they have more plot to do.

Doesn't that kind of happen anytime one (or more)big empires want to go at it but don't want to commit fully yet, they have proxy wars and often they make things that become problems later on. Rather that be "freedom fighting" groups (with US army money), "freedom fighting" rebels (with CIA money), drug cartels ( with CIA money), "revolutionaries" (with CIA money), new "legitimate" regimes (with CIA money) , and occasionally one of those things also get some money from not the CIA, although there's probably examples of something similar in Chinese and Korean history just considering how much war China's had in its history(and how often that spilled over onto their neighbors/ holdings/ associates)

Because they aren't blood thirsty Marauders, (I mean they are sometimes a little bit but not consistently) and also because they're both technically from "righteous" clans so they're supposed to be allies, it's the same reason he didn't murder the, I want to say Wudang? or Taiji ? I think the main thing is when you fuck around with dark topics you either have to make it believable or not make it cartoonishly excessive otherwise people are going to dismiss it immediately as "edge Lord bullshit", like right the extra step that this series might have not needed to take is the cannibalism, and if you want livestock doesn't make that much sense when you consider it is something that is decided after like 14-16 years of life, usually the way dehumanization is able to work at all in a group of humans is that they pick someone that has something about them that is different from the start and decide that that's bad (skin tone, religion, etc) because whenever there's been societies where anyone can become a Target at any time for unclear reasons for an extended period the system tends to collapse under the strain of paranoia anger and fear.
