Why is it Jeju Island in Korean stories is like New York in disaster movies: it always shows up no matter what, it's always where the most f***** up shit is about to go down. And weirdly enough at least half the time it is specifically full of ants or bees or things that look like bees but we're calling them ants.(That last one doesn't really apply to New York)(unless you replace ants with rats)

Having got to this point his decision making doesn't bother me at all, he avoided changing s*** because he didn't want to lose the "I can see the future" advantage he had, and once small changes happened individually he figured they would smooth out but when they stacked to make bigger changes he accepted that "the storyline's f***** so I'm just going to do what I can" he just wanted to avoid hassle as long as he could.
I don't understand why so many people are complaining about him having took this long to try to actively change the plot, his goal was never to do that, him having to do that is a negative to him, he has more negatives than positives if he does that because now he's flying blind in a game that apparently had bad ends literally f****** everywhere off of the smallest choices, that's like being tossed into dark souls or fire emblem on hard mode and getting mad at the main character for not power leveling immediately and trying to get the best gear - he's out here fighting for his fucking life! If he f***s up he's just dead, why the f*** would he want to risk that?

I do like that his whole mentality is that he wants the main character to succeed so that he doesn't have to do main character stuff cuz he really doesn't want to, like he's technically avoiding responsibility but like not in a s***** way, just in a "I don't want to if I don't have to" way

Yeah the artist really did slowly turn this man from "Putin but tall, buff and younger" into this more anime-esque dude with the wild flowing hair and the less defined cheekbones and the larger less shark-like eyes.

I think it's because this author's really good at drawing dudes and muscular people and not as great at drawing women, because I remember when I first read this it was like 21 chapters until the first female characters that wasn't the main character's mom (or an old woman) showed up

Well he has offered the weaker person help and put them in a stronger position as a result, and while she is weaker than the red hair chick she's not weak the red-haired chicks just very strong for her age, that and if he was purely goals oriented he would probably have accepted the marriage and rolled with it and all that, but he has formed attachments to some of these people just by spending time with them and kind of wants to give them better outcomes if he can, like he's semi-pragmatic but he's not as pragmatic as he could be because he has things he wants to do and things he needs to do and he's trying to accomplish both without having to sacrifice one for the other.
that and he just doesn't really like the red hair chick very much and being around her makes him actively uncomfortable and nervous both because her willingness to kill extends in all directions meaning if he slips up or proves less useful than she thought he might just die for it, and because unlike the dark-haired girl, she is both well aware of her position and fully willing to take advantage of it meaning it would be an innately unbalanced relationship for him. That and going off of leadership style she has charisma and power but doesn't really seem to care about the people beneath her as people - only as tools, like she has no real loyalty for her subordinates it would be like working for Frieza but frieza is also your wife and expects you to be almost as good as her at all times but not better because that would hurt her pride.

She is also more willing to throw away subordinates lives and is quicker to resort to more brutal methods, as well as being more headstrong and less willing to accept input from others, he just wants to quietly do his duty, get stronger and leave and if he throws his lot in with her two of those things become significantly harder, plus he just prefers to use more subtle methods when he can and she just doesn't bother to if she doesn't absolutely have to.
She absolutely aligns more with sect ideology but he doesn't so he would rather work for someone who might align with his vibe. That and he lived the life of a sect member under her in his previous life and ended dying so he might just wanna spin it all back differently this time.
