This is some monkeys Paw Shit bruh, all those motherfuckers asking for gojo to come back he "came back" and the monkeys finger curled, as an aside I don't mind an arc being dragged out a bit if it becomes a showcase of all the characters the author can drag into it and the entertaining ways they can get characters out of the situations they've put them in without using ass pulls, this Arc is reminding me of the Chimera Ant Arc in Hunter x Hunter.

At this point my only hope is that the lawless are down to clown, if only because they realize how f***** they are if they don't work together.

I made it all the way to chapter 5 before I got too annoyed by her to continue, she's got this self assuredness despite not knowing what's going on that makes her really unlikable because it doesn't come across as a joke. Usually if you make me a character like this you add some kind of straight-man with them so that their antics don't become and insufferable, like that maid in Beware the Villainess, or Javier in that estate designer series, to go this one would honestly benefit from just cutting to how other people see her. (Which it may do at some point, I only made it to chap.5)

That's why I said he's similar in action but not personality, I was more so referring to his gung-ho strategy of "if you can't solve it with violence use violence on the right person or use more violence, and if that doesn't work s*** man I don't know" I never meant to insult his character I genuinely just meant to a reference to how anytime anyone describes his past actions it is always him throwing hands to solve a problem, no negotiations just that heat I will admit my previous comment left it unclear that I was referring purely to his methodology so I've edited the original to reflect this.

That series is the main reason I was apprehensive on starting chainsaw man cuz I was concerned that it would end like fire punch did, where it just kind of became a complete f****** mess, despite having a very strong unique start with strong themes.

They are really two types of Chinese protagonist, you get the type that starts off complete garbage and rapidly gets better- standard heroes journey type beat, the other type however is "I found something or inherited something or came from a place that makes me incredibly overpowered" and they're consistently always just like, or very rapidly become like that with no major struggle or stakes.
An example of type 1 would be like Tales of Demons and Gods(mostly). An example of type 2 would be like that one where the main characters that overpowered zombie, or that one were the cultivation dude goes to a superhero world.

yeah, it was like a reveal that when he went to sleep sometimes the fire he was holding back to one part of his brain would spread out and it happened when he met that dude and decided to forgive him and show him Mercy and he killed that dude and all the kids that do manage to save from the city he burned down.

On the one hand yes, on the other he did spend like 60 chapters trying to distance himself from his love interest to "protect her".

I more so mean in behavior than personality E.G.: constantly pulling off miraculous bullshit because you're just built different, the solution to every problem is violence,, kind of a dick to everyone but only a little bit, judges everyone by his cracked ass standards etc. except that a Chinese main character would be no thoughts head empty - while he has a personality and motivations.

I mean Roderick Solves Problems like a Chinese comic protagonist, "how do you solve this problem?" "I beat its ass!" "but it's a mountain" "I beat its ass." "B-What? how are you able to-" "I beat its ass because I want to and I can because I can, and I'm right because I'm me"

It is really genuinely throwing me off that were fighting yetis right now dog, it would be like if in the middle of one of these dungeon series Bigfoot just showed up, like specifically the cryptid not a monster that shares claimed characteristics, but specifically the crypt.

And then he came back and burned his entire family to death while unconscious, after burning an entire metropolis to death, and then he fought the villain that did all of this and froze the world so they could watch Star wars in theaters, and then he killed the orphan he saved from getting raped who had since then become a super powerful cult leader, Man fire Punch got progressively stupid as it kept going.

When hatred is all you have left, what happens when the thing you hate so much resolves to make amends truly and utterly, what must a man do when Fate asks him to turn his hatred into pity, to turn his rage into Mercy, when your vengeance is no longer Justice, merely violence, what justification can you stand by.

If I'm going off general trends though on average the Korean ones are at least one step above the Chinese ones, like they usually at least pretend to give a s*** about side characters and at least try to have continuity that's not madness, and usually attempt to have foreshadowing and the general plan or any kind of endpoint. Though I will admit it is just biased by the fact that I've read maybe 5 genuinely good Chinese comics out of well over 200, and out of the several hundred Korean ones I've read about half are genuinely good, and the other half usually aren't dog s*** like Chinese ones they're just mediocre, well a couple are dog shit, but those ones are kind of outliers.

That's why I was confused, I expect that from China, this is Korean usually there is a highly standard of quality from them.

It's the same s*** they pull in revenge stories where a main character can kill any number of minions but it's "too far" to kill the villain. like no, you finish the work, you don't take four steps past the edge of the cliff then look back and walk back like a Looney tune you are more than 30 murders past when this decision should have been made.
