Other ones that are better as novels include Damn Reincarnation & the failure that is Emperor's Domination, both failing to stay true to their sources within the first chapter. Damn Reincarnation was hilariously bad with Asura fking up the translation horribly and the novel having official art that slaps. The manhwa for that was disappointing to say the least.

I would say the webnovels are where the CN stuff pops off. Renegade Immortal, Reverend Insanity, I Shall Seal The Heavens (ISSTH), Star Odyssey, and so on. All of these are absolute bangers I strongly recommend reading, however do some research into Er Gen and the "correct" order to read their books in before touching them. ISSTH is legendary, but read the works they wrote before that and you'll get more out of it. Their first work is Renegade Immortal, and their latest (currently ongoing) work is their 6th or 7th, that being Beyond The Timescape. All share a common universe.


Star Odyssey is my personal not-so-guilty pleasure, but rhe first bit can be a slog. However at this point, I can't even remember that as I've been reading it since it had 300 chaps and now it has over 10 times that hahahaha...


Er Gen's works average 1800, but are well worth it. He's probably the most well known chinese webnovel author and also the best by no small margin. ISSTH is, from what I remember, the most popular webnovel in China for years now. Maybe it's been overthrown, but yeah. Alongside Duoluo Dalu (akaSoul Land), which is the series that kicked off the entire Wuxia scene, it's pretty much the moat famous one.


As for Beyond The Timescape, I'll just give the statistics. 97% positive reviews out of 496 reviews on WuxiaWorld, a site that is officially translating this stuff.

Your comment has drawn me here for the sole purpose of agreeing. I learned to be patient as a kid waiting for the local library to get the new copies of various series. I've waited for HxH to get back on schedule. A week is nothing to a mind capable and willing to come back later.
