Author spent too much time making us hate Duke. Duke has all the makings of power, but makes all the choices of a coward. Betrayed his family & school for more power, didn't know when to cut his losses & give up, still gets supported by strong people despite his shittiness.

If Duke wins, he kinda cements his position as Jiwoo's rival, & Ian is a nicer rival despite having less screentime & not being fleshed out (as is off-screen friends when the come back from their hyperbolic time chamber training powerup). Unless author's planning a redemption arc for Duke, I don't see that happening. But author could be planning a redemption arc so IDK. But Duke is trash, & you don't put trash in the recycling. So I wouldn't bet on it.

That was exactly my thought I wanted to be a long hard fight that Duke could just barely wins, that way they'll be tied on the win-loss ratio and they can have a final conclusion rematch. Plus it'll be the first time he loses to someone that he is equal strength and equal experience to, because there's only technical losses so far have been against people that are way stronger than him or people that have been training all their life compared to him.
