But there is no clear successor in this case. if this king is killed, even if he is replaced by a better ruler eventually, there will be a period with no ruler where everyone is at each others throats. this king is awful, yes, but the kingdom is running stably for the time being. So leave him alone for now until a proper successor comes to light, then kill him and replace him quickly and cleanly leaving little room for chaos and infighting.
