While i understand the desire to be loved, but this girls obsession was genuinely just frightening. Trying to force mc to be with her just because he was the only guy who never paid attention to her.

From the sound of it he confessed to her once in middle school, got rejected and moved on with his life. And shes thinking that because he never got with another girl shes the only one he’s ever liked and for some reason still likes her.

So the question now is does she actually like him or is he just the best option to try to fit her “perfect life” plan.

She has the thought of ‘I’m in high school now so I obviously need to get a boyfriend’ but because of her pride she wants to get confessed to and not confess herself. And because of her perfectionism all the guys don't feel up to snuff to actually shoot their shot. Seeing this she thinks her “perfect life” is starting to crumble and starts to get desperate. She thinks ‘hey, he confessed to me once and never got with another girl, he must obviously still like me.’ And hatches a plan to get together with him not for actual romance, but to follow her “perfect life” plan.

I couldn’t be with someone like that personally, because I’d never really know if they truly like me, or if I’m just there to tick off another box.

While I agree that, given everything that's happened, he could be a little more cautious and prepared. He's also been running after #13 this whole time without much rest. So prep time hasn't really been there given he's just sorta been thrust into one situation after the next on cleanup duty.
