i don't actually know if she has that ability. she only has her slime and panther friend but all the slime can do is read inherent nature of people, which in this world is incredibly powerful.

you forget the primary conflict up to this point. She is helpless (initially), she can't expose herself, and someone was targeting her by the time she showed up to this town. She has been growing in power and confidence, and this arc was basically her helping the people catch the bad guys. The anime does not go into this much detail, but her whole issue was that she could not allow people to know she was a girl and that shes a 1 star tamer. (reason why she was thrown away in the first place). by this point, she has gained some friends, and finally resolving the problem of people trying to kidnap her.

I am curious, does the goddess not even have the ability to influence their powers? doesn't that make her a fake?

I am surprised god coudn't see Dou for what she really is. She is a pure soul. completely incorruptible. However, i fear that a major loss would probably cause her to go to the deep end. She is way too pure to remain good if she were to lose someone she cares about.
