well you answered your question didn't you? its a classic story. political marriage looks good but the man doesn't love you. he finds a woman he loves and has a son. worse yet, that son has more talent and potential than yours. so you do what you have to, but fail. You still have to play the palace game but eventually things go so wrong for you that you do the stupid thing, the desperate thing. And here we are.

I honestly don't have much of an opinion on these development. It was shocking when paul did it, but this feels almost forced. oh well, lets move on.
