I'd be super depressed if it happened to me. All my friends would be old or dead. I'd have to deal with how to handle interpersonal relationships as an adult in a child's body. The whole thing is way less glamorous than these stories make it seem.

Just because he was thrown into a new situation immediately it's easy to forget how depressed he must be. He immediately went from all his friends dying to having to rebuild his sect with little time for mourning. Luckily he has objectives to focus on, but every once in a while something like this reminding him of his past life is both refreshing and very sad.

That wasn't necessarily fresh blood, he may not have been to his home town since the battle, and soldiers in medieval times (and by extension swords and sorcery stories) weren't exactly hygienic.

Yeah but saying that having a super defensive ability sucks is kind of shitting on every tank main in every game ever. Having someone on a team that can defend everyone is extremely valuable and many of them may have died if he weren't around. He needs teammates to actually deal with the opponent, but if he's there people can deal with opponents they normally wouldn't be able to deal with.

It can clearly take more damage than his body. He doesn't take damage from the barrier getting hit directly, I think he gets hurt by overusing aura or whatever the juice is that powers their abilities. Plus he can defend others. Seems pretty strong to me.
