So the author's taking the piss out of the how and whys of traditional hero stories. Neat.

All it takes is one bad day.

There would have to be a motive present for the sword to initiate such behaviors, to go from killing to violation and mental destruction of its target.

Everyone clammoring about horny is being dumb. This is a comedy that takes the piss out of the ideas of the big bad reviving on the clock and the heroes taking victory to the extreme. Makes for a good narrative and the erotica is just a cherry on the top.

But basically if you still get sad about Bambi's mom being killed, just go find something fluffier to read. This is gallow's humor at its best, thus outside of your wheelhouse.

None of you get the joke and that's sad.

The fight was absolute dogwater, but I can forgive it because it defies (at least this time) the trope of clothes being magically-resistant to extreme forces of wind & gravity. Which is to say ADEQUATE PLOT

Plot gives way to convenience one time too many. Hard to even consider this conflict had any heat or any threat in it.

Comments say there's something wrong with the top soldiers being discarded like trash and branded monsters. I agree. I also pose there's something wrong with the characterization arc on Satis. Her traumas only come up when it's convenient to a monster attack when if she was as tortured as she says, SHE should be the one with issues sleeping and not the other way around. Likewise, she adapts to human living far too easily.
