According to a google search, the average life expectancy in the 19th century was under 40 years old.

The sheer solitary confinement is absurd. Forget the darkness, but 4 years of living alone will destroy your mind. Sheesh...

Learning a language that doesn't use letters like English -> just comes down to memorizing characters. *googles random chinese characters*
Here's one: 间
and another: 时
Thanks to googling, I know if you combine them like this: 时间 this means "time"

So, if you don't know how to read Chinese, you'll start by memorizing the "1000 Fundamental Characters." If you google "1000 fundamental character chinese" -> you should find a result for a book to purchase to help students learn the language. After the 1,000, you'll memorize the ones you see afterwards and expand your... "vocabulary" as you live.

I imagine this is similar for other languages that also don't use letters like English.

Back to the manhua: learning 200 of them in a few hours is whack. I can only imagine that most kids missed lunch that day.

I read this as it was updating and I finished reading it when the final stretch was uploaded... I just forgot to ever leave a review behind. I don't think I had an account on this website when it happened so maybe that's why.

It starts off with a typical isekai shtick and Mr. Main Character suddenly appears in another world because he was summoned there. He isn't some sort of super genius in the new world - which has swordsmanship, magic and stuff. Instead, his only advantage comes from the fact that he was a bored genius in the normal world.

How so? Well, if you want an isekai where you want someone to literally nuke the ever living !#^$ out of his enemies, then you've come to the right place. Frankly, the first time it happened, I was in disbelief and I was thinking "no way... right?" The manhua addresses this directly. "Way." It's rare for a character to have such amazing combat power and yet feel somewhat vulnerable at the same time.

With that out of the way, the art is fine, the plot is above average and it does a thing where it trickles in a major overarching plot that becomes the grand goal for the manhua -> and it ends really well. At time of writing, several works are getting completed and people are upset over them ending poorly, so if you give this a go, you won't be disappointed.
Furthermore, it's got good characters who stick around and develop as the plot progresses.

Overall, 8/10. I'm no IGN dude, so this is a great score.

Full disclosure: this manhwa starts off with some pretty mediocre art. It is simply "satisfactory" but as it goes on, it does indeed improve while having a bit of uniqueness.

The main reason you will read this is because the first chapter hooked you in. The second chapter onwards will demonstrate how knowledge is power and how life is like when you're a no-named common soldier in war that's expected to throw your life away for a war. It's honestly a pretty brutal setting but Mr. Main Character makes the most of it.

It comes down to Mr. Main Character's second chance at life, using all that he knows to live his life to the fullest. There is a major emphasis on characters and frankly, this manhwa has some really well written characters and there is great focus on bonds of these characters in a miserable setting (ie: war).

You will start off looking forward to seeing how Mr. Main Character uses his knowledge to his advantage - and this remains consistently present throughout - but the focus does shift towards his adaptability. There is no way that his actions haven't changed the timeline and the manhwa points this out directly. What's left is for us to watch how he tackles every new problem.

Furthermore, there is are clever details that are inserted early on -> and last until the very end. It's pretty spectacular how much I was like "THAT STARTS FROM HERE?" when I reread the first chunk of this manhwa.

Overall, if you can get past the mediocre art at the start, this manhwa is a solid 8/10. Totally worth the read.

Dude, it's been 11 years and they died in a war. You chose the wrong side of the war - and you know it's the wrong side since they lost. Grow up and do something productive with your life.

This is a Korean manhwa featuring a Chinese-setting with generic manhua tropes (such as cultivation and stuff like that) that lands squarely in the "One Punch genre." To be clear: Mr. Main Character is absurdly overpowered, effortlessly breaks common sense and beats up any and all bad guys.

The pros are obvious: One Punch man generic tropes are present after all. Thing is, recommending it is weird. On one hand, there is a plot that's set in motion starting chapter 1, no really -> and around chapter 169, all the triggers are pulled and things pick up big time until the manhwa concludes.

On the other hand, there is like 50 chapters of downtime where Mr. Main Character is mostly left off to the side -> and focus shifts to one of the villains who lost but is kinda just chilling, plotting a way to make a come back but never getting far -> and gets some humility -> slowly becoming a decent person. He was never truly despicably evil in the first place but he had a huge ego.

So... if the manhwa starts to drag, skip to chapter 169.
I generally do recommend it. It's decently funny and impressive how just by simply existing, Mr. Main Character influences people's actions directly. It makes sense overall and so he kinda gets away with doing nothing for that 50 chapter downtime but somehow remains relevant.
For no real good reason, the manhwa fails at properly doing romance. The bad reason is "for the lulz." Bleh. At least two characters straight up break that rule and are like "hey, if we survive this, let's actually date."

Overall, 5/10. It's fine. Reminder: I'm not an IGN dude.

Quick! Treat him nicely and hopefully he'll dote on you!

Also, I'm predicting 3,000 is nothing. I want him to reach 9999+ -> and finally show off the numbers featuring 30,000!

For what it is worth, the Chinese "One Punch" manhua I like is "Hero? I quit a long time ago" and it doesn't actually push Mr. Main Character away from his main role as the main character. It absolutely does the thing where it pushes him aside for several chapters and has other characters fight in impressive ways. It adds value to the enemies he can effortlessly defeat and all. People still complain about it though. Perhaps not on this website (I didn't read it here) but certainly at other websites... and random online discussions. @_@;

Shame it randomly stopped updating and it hasn't had any updates since. /shrug

I want more! T_T

Lemme digress for a moment,
Ya know, when this One Punch Man manga does the dance of showing off other heroes and villains fight and there's tension and all that, it gets praised and people love it when Saitama walks in and wins with one punch.
There are other iterations of this genre - I refer to this genre as the "One Punch genre" -> and I noticed that people have absolutely NO chill when sequences like this happen. People in the comments go wild and demand the manga/manhwa/manhua to "skip ahead already" so they can see Mr. Main Character do the thing.

I don't get it. People make no sense. :\\

Chris's weapon is literally a dragon slayer spear. I have a feeling if he morphs into a dragon, he'll be completely screwed.

Power vs Tricks.
As both increase, it remains perhaps a fair fight, arguably leaning one way or the other depending on who you ask.

Thing is, while there is a limit to both power and tricks, tricks hit their stopping point first. A clear example: try as you might, you cannot trick your way out of being one-punch'd by Saitama from Onepunch Man.
