to nothing at all. It is just so out of place.
No, it wasn't axed. It's telling a short story with a purpose and a large amount of emphasis on the struggle that Mr. Main Character suffered through and it accomplishes this. Once it is done, it ends. Neat and tidy.
It elevates the basic premise that a lot of people take for granted: getting killed hurts. A lot! It hurts so much that it would probably leave you in a vegetative state if you had to experience it a few times, and yet we have one Mr. Main Characters after another from SO MANY WORKS that shrug it off like its no big deal when realistically, you'd never be able to shrug it off no matter what.
Example: SSS-Class Revival Hunter
The previous comment (when sorting via "newest") talked about "there's never any sense of him being in any real danger" has completely missed this point -> and it is the most important point, relevant from the moment it starts until the final chapter.
So, what is this about? Well, what the description points out is effectively the entire thing. Seriously, the plot starts and ends with it but it does evolve a bit to keep you interested.
I think the worst detail is the explanation behind an "irregular" detail. Frankly, they should NOT have explained it as it adds some weirdo "destiny" sort of thingy and uhh... if anything is mishandled, it would be this.
Otherwise, the art, the setting, the action, the terror and suffering, etc is all pretty well done. I do recommend it if you're looking for something short to read.
Look for the panel where he says "Once you leave, I'll be left with weaklings" for context.
Bruh, that sounds like a YOU problem. You're the sect leader and if your sect is nothing but weaklings, then it is ON YOU to do something about it. Dragging Zhou Fan here to do your job is fairly pathetic. Yes, you can argue "that is him doing something about it" but this is like a King dragging another nation's King to fix his country.
You're the leader but your leading abilities... how did you put it? (see the text bubble under the same panel) -> "To be blunt, your
strength[leadership] is worth s***."Though, they can be upset if a misleading video was posted online. Video titled "man teaches friend how to present a flower to his wife" would be perfectly fine, but a video titled "man confesses to another man" would not be fine -> and not because both dudes are married and got wives waiting for them, but because LGBTQ+ people lack protections in China (according to a quick google search).
hehehehe
As in, several mines just sitting there in his ring.
(why can't I post pictures?)
This chapter can be like "everything is going wrong lol"
Yeah sure, it's gonna be great for the good guys overcome this, but blargh do I dislike this.
tl;dr: 9/10. Amazing work. Do recommend if you're fond of the "Dungeon Hunting" genre.
I was honestly skeptical when I first saw this. I thought it would be a useless main character -> title happens -> Omnipotent Mary Sue. This is NOT what happens. Ms. Main Character is likeable from chapter 1 and her character does grow and develop quite well throughout the plot.
The characters in this work define it pretty well and there is a group of characters that are introduced and never lose relevance. Straight up, I saw some characters from like 50 chapters ago and was like "I RECOGNIZE THEM" immediately because that's how well they were written. It isn't just Ms. Main Character, but every character that grows.
The lore, plot, overall mechanics are pretty good. Some plot developments fall under the "oh, that's quite convenient" logic BUT it was carefully set up to where it wasn't enough to instill negativity in me as I read along. Quite a bunch of standard dungeon hunter tropes, which is to be expected.
My biggest complaint is the romance aspect. No joke but teenagers are less awkward than these two idiots. Seriously, you're both almost 30! I will say that it was amusing early on, especially considering the circumstance (it's obvious when you read this) and the guy is quite direct with his actions but not his words -> and then it goes downhill. Well, at least they stuck the landing.
I do wish the manhwa had more focus on the loot, though I imagine it would've become quite cumbersome to keep track of everything real quick. Also, early on, the pace might be a bit slow.
In a chapter or two, maybe three -> we'll be getting the flashback to see Lefanta for the first time.
So uh, I'll probably know in a few days.
I'm aware that there is another translation but I'm just sticking to the one on Wuxiaworld.
if not,
Lefanta Aegim is the founder king of the kingdom (floors 11 to 20). He was accompanied by the "goddess of protection" -> before he shattered her into a bunch of pieces. He scattered her across several worlds - but also left behind one in the empire - the one that Mr. Main Character picked as his reward for clearing the 10th floor.
Laviel's plot was that she stabbed herself in the heart with one of the pieces of the goddess which started her troubles. That piece/fragment was becoming a constellation on its own.
This is to highlight that this fragment (sacrifice) has become a constellation of her own too.

They didn't do that in this manhwa though, as far as I remember.
Rather, in this case, it's probably arms instead of heads.
Ms. Main Character should've taken all her bias opinions against the black knights and Jermel (as well as the second prince) -> threw all the blame of everything happening -> squarely on them.
She should've acted with the purpose of "find evidence that they are the true culprits."
Sure, someone might be like "you seem to have a grudge, so maybe chill out" -> but then she, to herself, should be like "my stigma supports this grudge being more than petty."
Like, imagine if this manhwa's dialogue, sequence of events, etc are all the same
but
there is an added train of thought and logic that Ms. Main Character has an axe to grind against the black knights, especially Jermel
What would happen to the quality of this work? In my opinion, the quality would go UP. Why? While she isn't a villainess, she is absolutely a regressor that got murdererererered by Jermel and wanting to exact revenge on him should be front and center.
From "there was an ambush on the third prince" to "there's a drug circulating around" and all the way down to "I stubbed my toe" and "Feon escaped custody" -> "It must be Jermel's fault. If only I can prove it."
It would just make more sense.
And, in case the manhwa tries to subvert expectations by having Jermel not be the true culprit behind everything wrong happening -> then at least we have an excuse as to why it's not bad writing for Ms. Main Character to have probably killed him or something.
