So... you agree with me? I did say it was a 7/10 and you're saying that it's around a 6.5-7/10.
The whole "7 or 8" deal comes down to personal preference. How tolerant are you of this genre's tropes? Especially with the slow boil. A slow start can destroy someone's interest, let alone a general slow pace from start to end.

To elaborate on the IGN comment, getting an 8/10 score on IGN's scale means the game is actually around a 5/10. Getting a 6/10 on IGN means you're looking at a contender for "worst game of the year." IGN has ruined the meaning of scores and dance around the premise of "9.3/10" or whatever nonsense they do. Furthermore, it is super well known across the internet and a lot of people are used to it -> so I draw attention to that.
Meanwhile, my 6/10 means "it's average." This work is a bit above average.

Since he's learning, here's a thought:

Instead of:
Quitting while you're a head.

Consider the following:
Quit while you're ahead.

They talked a bit more in the novel, but it's a pretty spot on chapter.
Also, there was a petition to give Jun-ho a medal for his work on making Korea a "special safe zone" <- ie, no uncleared gates. He doesn't want it.

The dragon bones were a total of 10 kilograms.

In the novel, there is more info on how these guys are scum.
"Stab!
There was a familiar sound.
'Huh? This sound...'
It was a sound that he heard often. His favorite sound of a heart being stabbed."
Before this fiend died from the stab to the heart, the last thing he sees is his brother's head getting cut off by Jun-ho's sword.

In the novel, it isn't thunder, but the dragon, feeling threatened when the reverse scale got ripped off -> starts summons magic dark spears and fires them nonstop.

In the novel, it wasn't one, but both of the brothers who tried to go for a backstab. They couldn't for... the same reason in the manhwa.

The only thing of note that is skipped is when Jun-ho sits down and absorbs the ice/yin energy from the equipment he bought. He gets +10 magic from all the equipment (around 0.5 to 2 per piece), except the gloves, which gave him +4 magic. The purified gloves are pretty good and he equips them. +1 speed, +1 stamina and +2 magic.

"Goblin" is, in my opinion, the better name to use in the translation. Sure, that would imply that saying "Princess" instead of "Gongju" to address the fiery redhead is the "better" way to name/address her, but that's a pun. Also, she is a person. This is a guild. A guild directly and literally named the Korean word for "Goblin" -> "Dokkaebi." So just use "Goblin" maybe?

Anyway, the novel tells us info on the Contract; not with Goblin, but the one that Deok-gu writes up. It is 5 million won for clearing a normal Gate and Uncleared Gates are 15 million won.

Well, there is less smack talk compared to the novel. Jun-ho pulls out a small dagger. One of the idiot trio remarks "Aren't you a sword user?" "That's for catching cows. This..." "Are you gonna say its for catching chickens?" "No, it's for killing bugs."
They fight with a bit more cooperation and coordination, but they still get their butts whooped.

The novel explains stuff better. You don't just go to the cinema, sit down, press a button and teleport. You communicate with the staff dude when buying a ticket -> and get a specific ticket -> then you go sit down and when the right time comes - at the start of the movie after the ads are done -> you get teleported to the black market. The manhwa had a cute little feature showing the Ice Queen freezing everything - not in the novel whatsoever - which I thought was funny.

So, no. A kid randomly sitting in that seat wouldn't have accidentally teleported. It isn't a stupid system designed by chance or something.

Furthermore, while every player market is unique in its own city, the black market is just the same. Fun fact: it is in Estonia.

The details on the happenings in the Black Market are about the same, just some minor differences in the events at the shop (shopkeeper is blonde, not bald, lol) and the conversation with the idiot trio.

The biggest differences that I feel are worth pointing out: Seo Jun-ho bought 8 items for 1.1 billion won, then bought up the secret room with better stuff where he finds the gloves. Seo Jun-ho did NOT put on the gloves immediately. Yes, he picked it up, and the shopkeeper snatched it from him and put it back on the shelf. He paid 1.8 billion won for the gloves.

Furthermore, he bought information from the bartender on the idiot trio. He heard them jabbering and knew what they were up to -> and prepared via information. He paid $3,000 for the info and tipped $100.

The novel adds a lot more details.
For one, getting to the point where he enters the room with the patient - lots of talking and stuff. Also, when he gets in, Seo Jun-ho doesn't pull out the core and freak out the old man but asks him to leave in advanced and stuff.
For two, you can kinda tell in the manhwa - with the sunset - but the "surgery" takes HOURS. Around four hours and he doesn't do it all in one push. Previously, using the core took around 2 hours.

For three, the surgery is not just absorbing the cold yin energy, but unclogging her magic circuits. He doesn't just shove the core on her or something, but he grinds it down to a powder and sprinkles it across her magic circuits to melt the yin energy and spends time fixing her magic circuits. Using Frost instead, he sends his magic through her circuits and... metaphorically picks up the ice and fixes the circuits as he travels.

Magic stat increases by 5. It hits 51 which finally makes magic his highest stat. Strength is 46, Stamina is 44 and Speed is 50. These are stats of someone around level 35, not his level of 13.

Also, Deok-gu asked "Wait, it gave you two?" when he saw the core. Also, Seo Jun-ho did ask for Dark-imbued gear too.

In the novel, the biggest difference is that Seo Jun-ho does not faint like that. He walks up to the corpse, cuts it open, pulls out and eats the liver raw -> giving him +5 to all stats. It did not that long but it felt like forever since it was GROSS! He washes his mouth out with some water, checks his inventory to make sure he got the core -> then promptly faints.

Since he woke up feeling really good, Deok-gu wondered if he was given an elixir or something when he was out. Nah. It's just his title.

It might sound like a meh difference - but between this liver and the blood petals from Leuf's garden, those two alone are +12 to his magic stat. He is prioritizing his magic stat like crazy because it is important to freeing his friends.

Well, novels are novels. Manhwa/webtoons are comics - or comic books.

You gotta admit, regardless of the content, the target audience for these are different. Sure, I like all the details and stuff that the novel gives but the manhwa doesnt, but some people do not care for it whatsoever. It is what it is.
