That's because I feel like some if not most Japanese writers have a tendency of characters not saying what they mean for extended periods of time like the readers have to earn an actual emotional interaction it can't just happen because one of the people in the equation is suddenly like 30 years wiser they have to be like 30 years wiser plus like a year of traveling

Unless one of them has the ability to spawn asphalt and level land instantaneously they aren't repairing an entire road system for large swaths of country in a month, they haven't mentioned some new construction technology or some miraculous construction techniques, hell they're good at fighting but most of them are like not particularly superhuman outside of fighting, hell in this specific situation the supply routes and logistics systems are already shit, it's just cartoonishly silly to have all the construction, negotiation and profit generation listed be completed in a month given what we've seen of this society and world so far.

I've read a lot of series like this and somehow this emperor is the Skeeviest one I've encountered, like he's not the worst nor the cruelest but something about him is just so irredeemably greasy. It's like he's having way too much fun being gross, but not in a fun enough way for it to be entertaining so it's just skeevin me out.

This series is a cluster fuck of madness in the best way, it's like if JoJo's bizarre adventure was 30% gayer and about 200% faster. A man caught a knife with his ass 10 out of 10

Worst part is the husband is trying to make some effort, he's just lived such a beaten down life that he literally cannot stand up to any resistance,(for fear that he'll lose what little access to his family he currently has) and his wife has the mentality of like a spoiled child that thinks holding their breath will just solve the problem, that doesn't even consider their own faults in a situation, just that her feelings were hurt so that means he's in the wrong.

Only thing stopping this man from being a Villain is lack of ambition

I've read 82 chapters but I'm done, the characters are charming and it has some compelling aspects but the knots of misunderstandings are annoying at this point and the main character's insistence that she's in the fairytale despite no evidence or reinforcement of such ideas outside of base level similarities is annoying, not to mention the characters aren't just dense they seem actively combative to the idea of romance but in a way that feels like an accident and it's so drawn out. Also despite 82 chapters I just don't understand why Ashley is even in this story she doesn't really do anything she sort of just there to be precocious and pathetic and make you feel bad.
