I sort of get what you mean, but don't forget even Necromancer and the Tiger-hunter turned valkrie ally have cheated death with the games gimmicks. Remember the game that has overtaken the world is for entertainment of some unknown beings and they want the worlds to ultimately end so they can start with a new world, the previous world left quiet and not a threat.

That all said, a gamified world's final boss is absolutely going to have at least a second form. Even Necromancer said it was suspiciously too easy without something like that.

Also plot wise it pads the story,. even giving room for a interesting plot twist of Dragon turning on DL because memories of being human once. Like what it showed with the mountain king shows that many of these sapient foes might have use to be regular humans till the game thing distorted them and took their memories. Like maybe that sad snake who had to die to deliver a message and the on-air or not scale to Necromancer use to be a regular human till bodily distorted and mind or at least memories erased.

What feelings? It shouldn't have been that embarrassing to be caught helping out the people of the dungeon. If you mean Vans feelings for Dragon, I don't see the connection.

Maybe you mean earlier at the beech this whole time but Van was showing muscle control specifically there, or randomly when Van was roleplaying what to do with with the situation with Dragon? eh, kind of seems like a random time to have feelings and then cause Van to express unrelated feelings latter.

Aside from other clues like that the dragon was seriously considering things, the fact that Dragon being against Necromancer at that moment would basically end the comic. No amount of ex machina could possibly save things without looking like a ass-pull. So this was no surprise

Well surely you know with your level the only real way to level past 70 or 71 is to just count on randomly getting it from the hour box.
