Well at least it's not as nonsensical as that arc, but it's early. Give author time to say it's a because daisies were smelled while doing somersaults down a hill that ends in a cliff on a Tuesday that Clay just has to kill children or some random thing.

It's not that abstract in this case, the fat ass was wholly in the wrong, they only charged in to save one of their own and didn't "destroy the business" just disrupted it a bit. They should have destroyed the business.

For that matter the "business" was pretty damn evil. Clay Marcia is some combination of evil and stupid as targeting these kids is also tactically stupid. Not because es's underestimating them, though taking on a group of mages and knights you know little about while knowing at least some of them are nobility for no reason is it's own stupid. Because causing more destruction and death just creates more problems, like say leaving a trail and target for pursuing law enforcement and these kids dying does not benefits Clay at all Also what does Clay care about that relatively little business anyway. Oh but also she has a insane grudge against Sharion for saving someone and causing a slight disruption somehow to their nonsensical plan.

Last antagonist, the dark mage was also a mix of stupid and evil. Trying to kill a large amount of kids for a insane grudge. No gray there. No "complicated". It's not "complicated" when the details are nonsense.

The top one the red part is straight surrounded by white with blue jagged edge/outside and the whiteish part splashes on impact.
Mech beams red part buldges in the middle and has a second part on the top and surrounded by a purple tinted white/very lightly colored purple.
