There are plenty of people that would feel guilt about taking the life of someone else like that, you wouldn't need to be a teacher or something to have issues with that. Like maybe a gangster use to killing or someone could even have issues with such a setting. You are right there are plenty of people who would be fine with it as well.

I doubt you could tell by occupation what any person would do in that situation though you'd think a teacher would be more likely to want to help kids. Maybe a teacher with a life of dealing with vicious or kids who never want to give effort in anything would choose the selfish jaded option because of their previous life experiences.

Also keep in mind a element of not having complete control over any of this in play. Neither choose to posses these people nor can they simply unpossess them because they decide to. MC will have to work at this. Easier to not feel guilty about something you didn't choose and don't fully control. Additionally there is the element of the possibility that the person possessed didn't want their life that allowed it to happen in the first place (theoretically possibly with someone could have committed suicide if not losing access to their life through possession) All of which potentially lead to more justification for continued possession.

I read a comic not that long ago with a female captain who recruits a OP male MC who can not die, who wants to die (aid in dying is how they recruit him) They are on a mission and a female character is struggling with victory. The male MC refuses to help, saying the captain instructed him to not help so she can get stronger.

A unbelievable amount of hate in comments towards this female MC. I suppose both for being female and expecting a female character to risk their life to grow stronger. The fate of humanity is riding on the war in this comic.
