The story has been building towards MC's mental and emotional decline but I swear people don't care and just want oonga boonga punch punch kill. It's crazy that a story tries to add depth and meaning behind a characters choices and motivations but people will just call it bullshit and skip to the action and act all confused when the MC doesn't fight who they thought would fight.

  to be honest whit all the thing that happen, having the mc whit a mental break down get anoying FAST, even more if it not that focus on it (it maybe a lot focus on it, but dont feel liek it to me), but at the same time i can't dissagree whit what you said, i would have love that mc join the fight before but at the same time what can we ask of a mentaly damage mc, getting berserk and attacking all around him or thinking before acting, even if it take time

This part of the story reminds me a lot of Simon’s character arc Gurren Lagann, he found a safe place in the shadow of the sword king but when he felt that he couldn’t live up to the title Barolt left behind he went into a depression which he came out on the other side of with his own title of Wolf King much like how Simon stopped being Kamina’s little bro and became a leader on his own merit

  On God bro that's exactly how it is, except people didn't treat him like shit for going through so much, the side characters pissed me off so much when I was watching that, I wanted Simon to have all the smoke with em.

i LOVE the designe of the angel, because his eyes arent actaully his eyes but his whole head is hollow with a glowing "holy" ring or halo if you will, shining vertically from literally inside his head out of his eyes
making it seem like he has glowing eyes

  I don't think MC's guidance can be repair.

By my understanding, feel free to correct me, a person doesn't particularly burden themselves to do super well on exams (sleeping 4 or 5 hours a day to study more) if their goal is just to be a social worker... right?

Assuming basic time shenanigans, Aegim's multi-century journey in the tower is irrelevant to the real world's time, so the director could still be alive.
