But the illustrator on this one abridged a lot of the source material for the comic, and in particular the last hundred-ish chapters focus on a war were incredibly rushed. They go from no planes to a fleet of fighter planes in like one chapter. And then they don't even influence the war explicitly. Literally never get used on screen.

Also very little of this is "filler harem crap", it focuses on interpersonal relationships between MC and the witches, but MC is pretty much loyal to one girl. A lot of the story is focused on step-by-step society development so it's slow but it's meant to be paced that way, just one of those genres that can't be faced paced without missing the whole point.
