Honestly with the way the story was setup with clear power levels and a gulf between the layed out power levels, this story never had a chance of avoiding power creep to an insane degree. If you can turn your brain off power creep is fine, but it makes a lot of things irrelevant. For example, the whole squad dynamic and the companions he made are irrelevant now, which sucks considering the story spent some time developing them. Now we are just in a constant cycle of MC fights a bigger and badder thing, powers up, and repeats until there is no big bad thing.

I just hope when this whole sabotaging arc is over two things happen.

1. The vice director goes to jail for a long time for trying to kill patients
2. The story goes back to its strengths which is the MCs interactions with patients and him trying to save people

The old beggars monologue just recapped what we have already been shown. The MC got all emotional after the father said you can't make her happy. Then he refused to ever communicate and decided to just be a toxic dick while whining about every little thing when it comes to the FMC. If he was committed to not being in a relationship with her he could have been an adult and gone their separate ways properly.

As a side note, the fact that the father was able to unnerve him so much is hilarious considering they spent multiple years in life and death situations together. The dad just said you might not make enough money for her and it instantly turned the MC into a 13 year old emo.

Dragon Prince keeps saying how strong he is or how he can handle whatever the consequences are, but he still refuses to go and get the princess himself. Dude is all talk.

You keep hating on her, but she is literally the exact same personality as the MC. The only difference in their characters is plot armor.
