Although its been a few chapters for us, its likely he hasn't even experienced a full day since he died. This is still all part of the examination process that he reincarnated into right away. At least thats my attempt at explaining in character reasons why he might say those things. More than likely its just the author trying to establish power levels.

If you are classifying as cutting people off / separating from someone as betrayal than we likely don't have much of a disagreement outside of semantics and what we think Cao Cao means when he says he would rather betray than be betrayed.

In regards to doing good just to feel good about yourself, I agree that most, if not all people, have done something positive because it fed their ego. However, don't dismiss people who do good things based on principles. Yes they might get satisfaction by following those principles, but there is a difference between doing something for ego's sake and doing something based on morality or ethics. Governing based on ego can lead to terrifying results and fickle changes.

This series would be so much better with higher quality translation. I find it crazy how much I still enjoy it even with the quality as it is.

I wouldn't care about his motivations if I was one of the citizens he is governing over. However, I would care if I was choosing to follow and trust this person. I don't think it is normal to betray people just because you are paranoid. Cut them off or separate yourself from them, then sure. However, Cao Cao literally kills people because of his paranoia, according to Hwabo. I might be wrong, but I think the author was clearly trying to show warning signs to the readers based on previous chapters and how Cao Cao is acting now.

Cao Cao literally told them he can't be trusted. Not to mention the way he described his happiness when being a governor seemed like he helped the people for praise and his own ego rather than a set of values he believes in.

I think its hilarious that the MC finally communicates (although poorly) about the status difference, the initial issue he had, only when that issue isn't his primary problem anymore. The romance in this story is needlessly dramatic. Advice to authors out there, don't have your drama be based on miscommunications that spans for multiple chapters.

Honestly the grandfather is being somewhat of an idiot (at least from the readers perspective). Viese has never shown any proper leadership abilities and has only been the successor due to his gender and timing of birth. It's honestly pathetic to give someone like that any real power.

I would like him to communicate. I don't care if he is afraid of the consequences of dating her again or not. The dude is in his late 20s, he is old enough to communicate like an adult and not like a 13 year old.

Honestly the MC has been a loser when it comes to romance since the beginning. Its unfortunate the author decided to drag out their romance with the cliche of a misunderstanding sending the MC back to his old ways. Obviously this will end with their relationship becoming closer than ever, but I don't know why the author needed to rely on this cliche. The author already set them up to bridging the gap in their relationship with the trip to the underworld. Usually this cliche is only used to force progress on the relationship.

Honestly the 2nd Dude deserves better than Hwa. In a previous chapter she showed that she is just as terrible at communicating as the MC. 2nd dude is a chad who deserves someone who knows how to be a proper partner and communicate properly.
