I agree with you their backgrounds are different. My initial point was trying to highlight that their ego, desire for attention, internal monologue, and reckless decisions are pretty similar. You could make an argument that their backgrounds can justify their behavior differently. However, it just seemed like Elver Galarga was just hating for whatever reason when she acts very similar to the MC.

Ang has already jumped in power to a 4th or 5th core demon, which seemed really fast. However, now it seems like his strongest enemies aren't the demons but instead the humans, which increases the gap he needs to overcome. Its a decent twist and Im all for it.

Everything we have learned so far about sumonology would be great in 1v1 fights, this is just the author putting on artificial constraints to increase tension and have the MC show growth. On the topic of constraints, I think it is dumb that the MC has constrained himself to sumonology when he is learning everything. He actually isn't in the part of the school year where he can declare a major but he doesn't even consider using any of the other skills he has learned. Not to mention before he even entered the school he demonstrated that he knows how to fight so why is he pigeonholing himself so much.

The random plot armor on scores for the MC is just like harry potter. Don't get me wrong the MC group should be graded on a different scale, but why do we single out their individual grades when everything leading up to this (including the other teams grades) were all team based.

Also what question was that from Simon. This school is literally all about kicking people out for the most trivial reasons. Everyone should be tryharding the classes.

I think its weird how MC has been reacting to the "traitor". I would assume he wouldn't see them as an enemy right away because not only did he recently find out what "traitors" are and his dad being considered a "traitor", but his mom is a priest. Its like the fact that his mom is a priest isn't relevant to his character at all.

Teachers noticeably playing favorites can be annoying.
