Yuri
She was just the random scrub who came in just as Stalker killed Payton and started making a scene out of it because she thought he was still alive until she realized what happened.
TBH, she was too weak to even be relevant at any of the tables and these idiots are lucky Jinhyuk doesn't have time to bother with them. If he were more spiteful or they could actually cause him meaningful issues they'd be so utterly screwed for trying to pull this sort of thing instead of just dealt with and ignored.
So, ya know... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
It would be convenient if that old man that wanted to kill Nie Li showed up after tracking him or something but thought his technique failed and got into a fight with the Attendant God. Too bad that's incredibly unlikely so we'll have to see just what actually manages to bail them out here.
So 20 years total after her death.
All those greedy morons will be too busy tearing each others' throats out to make any use of what he did because "first come first serve".
But enough about them, let's focus on the real important part of this chapter:

After so long without her contractor, she's having a blast. And look at this? Could you deny that smile?

Didn't think so!
Should we rename him to Luigi for this?
Though, in fairness, Nie Li typically does just outright kill his enemies when he has the opportunity. What he did with the Python's two lackies, for example (enslaved them and forced them to guard Glory City while implanting them with a kill switch so if they even think of betrayal it'd end poorly for them), is an exception to how he usually operates. So it's hard to remember examples of where he's done things like this without going back and actively searching for them.
Now the question is just how it's going to screw his enemies over even further this time around.
Even if she tried to clear things up, she'd have just been written off as traumatized by the event or something and he's definitely not gonna clear things up because despite what he did being reasonable, he's purposefully taking the fall for her both in killing Payton and having to suffer the fallout of killing Payton.
slaveemployee obtained! Hooray!Payton died as he lived, causing problems for everyone else. What a shock to absolutely no one. Looking forward to Jihnyuk bailing his stalker out because, let's be real, the guy is gonna refuse to clarify what actually went down and why just to take the heat off Teresa even though killing Payton was totally reasonable under the circumstances.
That's why this chapter she straight up told him that she's going all out and he should stop hiding his abilities or they'd all die since now that she knows who he is she knows everything he's done in her presence thus far was basically just him screwing around.
So to clarify on what I said in hopes you get what I mean, none of the deeper explanations and lore have actually been given to the readers of this adaptation so far. There is plenty of setup being done and if you already know what's really going on then you can see when and how each event happens. For those who don't have the benefit of already knowing what's going on, however, there haven't truly been any explanations or information into the overarching details. Hints, yes. Potential ideas, certainly. Actual solid information? No.
The events you've mentioned so far have happened. Fairly obviously with the benefit of hindsight and knowing what to expect at that.
However there has been no actual explanations or information about what's actually going on from the reader point of view in this adaptation specifically. You did a great job explaining things in Chapters 11 and 14 for those who don't already know. That still doesn't change the fact that without your explanation none of this is actually shared with the readers in this adaptation so far and they'd need to jump some logic chains to get there. We certainly can see that what he's doing is obviously far greater than what he thinks he's doing. We're also told he's blatantly defying how things should work when he uses his magic. The fact remains, and this is important, it has yet to be truly explained to the readers in this adaptation. It's very clearly setting up the bits so that once it does tell the readers what's going on they can go back and see for themselves where it was being demonstrated. Someone who is simply reading along for the first time and not diving into the comments section won't know any of the details you've explained though because the story so far has intentionally chosen not to explain them.
Let's look at it another way. To someone coming in blind? He first gained these powers and abilities in Chapter 6. After all, that's when we see him being granted the ability to "Twist the laws of this world a little further" and "Greater Power to defy the world's laws". As far as he was aware, that was just the right selection from the game he played but it was made fairly blatant to be more meaningful based on what was said to him afterwards, "O human who remembers the gestures and mysteries of a forgotten god, I express my gratitude to you, who inherit the will". Combined with the equally obvious nods towards this in Chapters 11 and 14 from those who can actually see what's going on when he uses magic and you get the classic setup where MC gets more than they realized, doesn't understand it until far later, and hints are placed along the way for the readers to put it together so that when everything is revealed they can look back on those events with a new understanding.
... At great personal cost to themselves, but survive nontheless!
The parents actually parent.
The teachers are being teachers.
The best friend isn't jumping at some rumors about a guy he should know better.
It's crazy seeing adults actually adult and people being remotely intelligent and realistic in this sort of genre.
Heck, even the girlfriend who folded like tissue paper immediately regretted it and the only reason she's diving deeper is because she's... well.. a dumb teenager making dumb mistakes and choices like teens do. And they immediately established how easily she folds to pressure in general so it's not even like it's out of character for her and her growing enough of a spine to take responsibility for her mistakes can be her character development.
This is actually such a breath of fresh air it's crazy.
