No spoilers as this is the first time I'm reading this:
I kept thinking by the end of the story he was gonna be the ultimate catastrophe himself, or rather, the King/God that deemed him the Player at the start of the story.
There've been a few moments where he's become colder and less empathetic afer things have happened... but seeing him release Byeon-gu like that makes me think nah, maybe he'll stay a good guy, that was the morally right thing to do and was a bit of a sweet moment.

Yeah, that outside party lost their healer first whereas this party's healer was hidden for a good bit of the fight.
Not sure if Meruem planned that outside or just got lucky but either way that's the main difference I think.

I do get looking forward to the action chapters, I've been like that for a while now too!
But for me the crossdressing chapters are still top tier so I'm happy,

Got me thinking about the future now.
