This was a bone-chilling chapter. I love when author can make you feel the weight of a moment with only dialogue. Something as simple as accepting him as a brother carries so much weight due to what we saw him go through. A lot of times authors skip the grind and hit straight to them being overpowered. Honestly this is a plausible enough twist for me to give it the pass, I just don't like how convenient it is for Choyun. Good plans aren't rewarded with victory or advantage, somebody just gets a random step boost in the end to beat their opponent. I would prefer if there was a level of investment similar to here before people awaken and surpass their limits. I think the word we're looking for is causality. The results of each matchup aren't making sense because not enough went into it. Next round we're going to see the MC transcend for whatever reason. I feel like not every Awakening has to happen mid-fight. It's just starting to cause the story to feel repetitive. Lookism honestly has the same issue to a degree.

So I've been reading the same length of time as you guys, obviously if I'm on this chapter, and I don't know how I'm feeling about the cult leader anymore. It's not that he's not justified in taking revenge and a lot of these situations, but if I'm on the stature of power that I claim to be I wouldn't see a reason to to be honest. I feel like an overwhelming display of strength while being merciful is somehow even scarier than wrath. Personally I'm this strong I would take a single finger (ring finger) as punishment and then just drop them to the ground. The precision you need to cut a finger at that location would require more skill than just lopping off a whole arm. And the thought that that person could have done more in my opinion since a far greater message. I don't know I'm kind of tired of seeing the martial artist population walk around with one arm 😭🙏🏿
