I actually almost prefer it. I get why they do it too.
I can definitely see where you'd take issue with the scene, and im not disagreeing with it, I think im just more ready to suspend my disbelief is all.
I could see the soul being forced to carry on an act like a puppet, while the consciousness slowly degrades. But I could also see what you're talking about, how the soul could be pissed at him, and how it's weird to not follow the flow of the novel here for seemingly no real reason.
Either way, thanks for being a rational person, its not often you can have these kinds of conversations in these comments. I hope this was fun for you too, and I hope you have a wonderful life :)
I think the spirit isn't/wouldn't care about being attacked mid sentence. He’s just “woken up” from being insane, he's probably not completely in his right mind either :P
As for the details of the spell behind trapping the souls. From what I read here, I don't have any problems with the scene. It describes how to release the souls from their prison, it doesn't mention consciousness.
To me, it sounds like the process of creating a tutor sword traps the soul, and has no regard for he consciousness, which implies they could be stuck in isolation forever. Which would drive anyone insane, interacting with another human being, one with such passion and drive, could possibly stimulate the insane to have some moments of clarity.
I don't think I'd take anything personally, having been stuck inside that sword for who knows how long. If anything, I'd admire his desire to fight personally.
It's practically a game to both of them
So there's a good chance that conversation still happens. He has to beat him to liberate him.
A. Time restriction. Having too much fun torturing
B. Self sabatoge. They surrendered after torturing to their hearts content.
I don’t see Incel as a sexist term personally. To me personally it doesn’t imply that men have to have sex to have worth, if anything it’s more a descriptive term for a type of person on the internet. Self described incels are often really not great people. That’s what I mean by incel.
It’s good we’re at least in agreement he was being Misogynistic. (Sexism towards women is misogyny).
Have a good life :)
I just can’t see how my insult was at all on the same level or worse than his hateful rhetoric. That’s the part that doesn’t make sense. You’re defending hate speech essentially, all because I said he probably doesn’t have sex.
It just doesn’t make sense.
In my eyes, you get what you give, if someone is giving out hate they deserve hate back. Especially if the hate they’re spreading is misogynistic or racist in nature. All I did in comparison was say he was an incel, not really at all on the same level. Me saying he doesn’t have sex, isn’t the same as him spreading hate about women.
Sorry if it offended you, but I stand by it. I only downvoted you because I disagreed with your disapproval of me rightfully hitting back.
I dig it 👀
I’m so happy this is back :)
He’s become a bit more grim I think.
Encrid’s Wall, a layered name. I love it.
This is a direct quote from something in history, sure. This is a manga, it’s under different circumstances. Look up the definition of an ellipsis.
You can look up Ellipses for yourself, they’re used to signify a pause, not the same as a period which does break up th sentence into two sentences.
I’m going to block you now, only because I’ve seen how you’re responding to other people and I want no part in that.
He says “By the end of the day… Count Desmond will die in this war.”” Which isn’t broken up how you describe. The war could keep going and probably will, but he’s saying Count Desmond will die by the end of the day during the war.
If he said “At the end of the day” instead, that would imply an idiom of “Eventually during this war he will die”. This could also just be a translation error on the scans part.
