I love this manga, but this was the most obvious twist of all time

I think she was already on the verge of getting eaten, and the momentary stutter of the order kicking in stopped him from reaching her in time. Cause it was shown that loyalty is important for the orders to take effect not emotions in the present. So the guy must’ve had loyalty to the guy and in the couple seconds it took for him to break free from the clan she died.

He seems like he’s supposed to be the smart intimidating type, but his eyes are so large and cute it’s hard to take it seriously

He destroyed one, got lucky with it being the one powering the priests and then pressed the advantage while just the priests were down before emergency power came on. That’s all.
