So, sadly, the Anime it's mediocre.
Animation it's good, but for some really really stupid reason, the studio decided to jump over about 1/4 or more of the story, for no good reason, they jump over character development, relation development, world building and even villian development, leaving an story that jumps over from fight to fight, it's not bad, but agaist really well done series like the old man who become a villaness, Sakamoto Days, Shangri La Frontier and even solo levelling, it's just mediocre and dissapointing, well not the first anime that become dissapointing. and sadly, not the last.

In this world it has been very clearly stated that those who are called Mercenaries born and live in a zone where high level monsters also live, where it's a perpetual war and where the terrain and climate are absolutly against the human life, those called Mercenaries are more on the Level of what modern armies call Rangers or Special forces, or if you like mithical comparations, more in line with what a legendary spartan is, Menwhile, the defender soldiers where born and raise on a paceful contry, rich in food and weather that excels in giving life, and unlike the mercenaries, they wasn't trained since childhood, most probably joined the army when they where just out of teenage years, and only trained with other people who live as paceful as them, so yes, in this world, the so called Mercenaries have the top combat training of the entire world.
You seem very very mad with the fact that the MC is realistic, that he is not a narutard who pull a power from he's ass and destroy everybody, the Mc it's the stronger on the school because of he's training, but he has stated that he's father is way stronger than him and way better at tactics, and he is facing an squad of people who could easily be at he's father level, so yes, Magic will give him an edge, but not an OP level like in the trash stories you seem to love so much.
Finally, if you even bother reading instead only watching the pictures, you could have understand that this is a mission of protection, the main goal is to keep the waifu safe, and keep the ron safe too, the Mc can't risk going all murder hobbo just for the Mercenaries come from the back and snatch the Waifu and kill the Ron, he has to serve as last line of defense, and if necessary, distract the attakers so the others can run away, basic stuff really, well basic if you have read some good material.
You really seem to have big issues against an author who is very realistic and logic, maybe you should go back to naruto and one punch man, seems to be more on your level.
