Despite the complexity of the story to this point and the increase in hiatuses, I am glad the typesetters shifted to a more easily readable font. Commas and periods were not easily distinguishable before.

I do recall the friends addressing her with a more "top dog"/"boss lady" sense, as opposed to a "big sis" sense, which was why the chapter dialogue confused me. Thanks for the clarification! I'm not familiar with all the various Japanese honorifics/titles and how they rank in terms of the hierarchy of respect/familiarity.

I'm starting to understand why the hiatuses began increasing in frequency: all the allusions to time travel and semi-omniscient characters have really hamstrung the writer by how the story might most sensibly conclude..

The usage of Frieren as a conversational crutch explores the idea that Stark has not yet grown the confidence to be himself when being solely with Fern. We saw as much in the other direction as made explicit by Sein (without emphasis on Frieren, but you get the point--neither were open enough and just being "themselves").
