I would say it's somewhere in the middle. We need to have heart enough to give a chance for redemption, but at the same time while I understand where E P! is coming from concerning Eunseo, I also think she's still at a point where if things got better for her she would fall back into old ways pretty quick. As for Juran, her unwillingness to accept her part in things is literally driving her insane, a punishment that is arguably worse than what Bora is inflicting on her. At the end of the day, seeing them suffer so much should make us uncomfortable and sad, but I honestly don't feel it's yet reached a point where I would allow myself to empathize and feel sorry for them. Eunseo still needs to direct her pity outward rather than on herself, while Juran has to accept accountability for her own actions. Before those things happen, I for one will simply coldly observe.

I feel you, but let's give the author time to cook. He's done good so far, aside from your valid complaints, and I think we'll see things tie together later.

It's still funny enough that I like it, but if it isn't evened out a little at some point I could see myself getting to where you are.

Having read up to chapter 168, and fully intending to finish at some point mind you, I think it's fair to go ahead and give a small review. In short, this is a consistent 6.5 - 7 all around the board for the most part. Above average art, plotting, pacing, etc. It's consistently entertaining in a tentative sense, rarely ever becoming boring, but rarely ever truly drawing you in either. It entertains you enough that you remember it and think "Oh yea, I need to go back and finish that" when you see it update, but don't quite feel motivated to see it through after about 10 chapters or so.

I think it has some to do with the sense of what's at stake, which is little to nothing, but not limited to that.

I feel like the design of the main character kind of encompasses a lot of the issues in a sense, the bird mask being a deliberate design choice for the sake of creating something iconic, which it is successful at, but then you see him wear something much cooler that he has no real reason to go back to the bird mask from but does so anyway, to the chagrin of many readers in the comments. It makes me feel like the author has a particular goal that lies outside the quality of the story he is creating, which obviously hurts it.

Anyways, it's still definitely worth a read, so just read it yourself and see if it clicks with you or not.

Think of the magic system as using game logic as opposed to story logic and it makes more sense.

I dunno, I feel like the mc got too strong too quick, but then again he is struggling pretty hard right now. It's the way that he just wiped out people en masse that bothers me, the author should have at least depicted him luring some out to fight smaller groups as it really feels he just skipped a rank very suddenly. Still willing to withhold judgement for a while longer, but I could see this falling pretty fast if it's not careful.

Meh, that's just as far as we know atm. A story is only as limited as the authors imagination makes it, whether or not it makes sense and doesn't feel like bullshit is the question.
