Agreed. Still irks me and is the reason I haven't read the latest chapters. It is like backpedaling. The scenes were fine the way they were. They were good dudes those marriages didn't work out. It is much better than having them all be evil just for the sake to make the plot work. Oof, really annoying.

Definitely hard to tell how things will develop with Derek. Either way though, Eclis was brainwashed. Not sure if the betraying his own people was part of it, but it was around that time that she started to brainwash him seemingly. Penelope did see her brainwashing Eclis from the shadows and we know she has used it even on Reynolds. It is quite dangerous and I honestly have been feeling sorry for Eclis for a while. Both Yvonne and even Penelope have been using him for their own gain. While it is understandable for Penelope of course, it doesn't mean it isn't hurtful towards him. Some noble that lost his title and turned into a slave, with only one person to turn to. He is probably the most tragic of all the characters, hence why I do hope he will be okay by the end.

Eclis having done too much under the brainwashing sounds like an oxymoron. If he did it under brainwashing, it would mean he is not liable for it. Not to mention that betraying his fellow people for the Empire is not a crime in the first place. The opposite in fact. So I have to disagree here.

Derek does have potential, but also incest? xD They are not related by blood, so it would be pseudo-incest at best. Not that there would even be pseudo-incest in the first place. It is pretty obvious that the author is going for the prince.

Feeling sorry for Derek with how hard he is being trashed. xD But I understand the sentiment. When Yvonne needed him the most, he cast her aside, trying to protect the house. I get why he did it. He wanted to do what needed to be done to protect the house and with Penelope having another incident under the belt back then (even though said incident was twisted as well), he jumped to conclusions.

Either way, he seems rather shaken with the brainwashing slowly wearing off. I am curious how things will play out. Obviously though, love the prince and want him and Penelope to get together. They fit perfectly. Though I also hope for more Reynolds scenes, as he is really nice and underused. Also, hoping the brainwashed bodyguard slave will be freed from the brainwashing soon. There are quite a lot of unfortunate circumstances here.

So, she attempted suicide. Her family saw this, shocked and devastated. Obviously, it is a bit late for them to feel bad, considering how happy she was at the mere thought of dying. This is really some heavy stuff, but it honestly also fascinates me. It seems as if she is trapped between two worlds. Or at least I hope the isekai world is real.

True, but considering in how much pain he is constantly, it is obvious he cannot think straight and what she is telling him, that she has the legendary cure? It is really obvious why he isn't believing her, so I don't blame him. He is in a tough spot.

My best guess is that they translated it thinking Kalos was a woman because of the way he looks. In Japanese there doesn't seem to be different she/he pronouns, so they weren't aware of it.
