Currently all enemies who trying to get to the statue move on surface, but there is nothing stopping them to dive in and get under statue then attack it from underwater and I doubt they can deal with them from ballistas, so they have to dive underwater themselves to protect. Well, it's a misunderstanding, I read other translation ahead of this site translation, and as for LN, on other site it was commented out about it. So from the other persons I know that it exists, but I personally didn't read it.

One thing to notice that they said: if current pace will continue at 2 chapters/week they approximate that it would take 18 years to cover massive LN. So, from time to time they release more chapters per week, usually 4 if that happens, but during CNY it was 6.
