Something didn't add up to that explanation. We clearly know that he trained his physique manually, so his body was trained. It also didn't make sense because if he get stronger stats, then his body would be healthier.
When he used that mana I had 2 theories:
1) he convert his life force into mana, basically shortening his lifespan or
2) he using mana without using system, like magic that Jung Sangwoo tried to do in that monster pit
