The way I understood it, Pinky's body has definitively died, but her soul hasn't crossed over as the demon's are too busy to get to her yet, and it seems demons have some sort of role in helping souls move on in Gyser. Thus, if Gloomy can find Pinky's soul, he nay be able to help her attain life anew, just like how the demon did with him.

We humans like to root for the underdog as we know what being powerless feels like, we can no longer properly empathize with the MC as he is basically a king, which very few of us would have a similar lived experience.
