There is always some resistance in consuming yaoi or shounen-ai content for most men. And that is understandable as a lot of that content, just like yuri, is overtly sexual just because. It's sad that content like this suffers because of that.
I'm really liking this series, the relationship between Yoshiki and Hikaru checks all the right boxes for me. Either one or both of them could be the opposite sex and the story would not be affected in the slightest.

Yeah, in earlier chapters we see the real Hikaru being like "If I knew I would die I would have told him" and then offering himself to the brain snatcher for a chance at being with Yoshiki. The kid did have feelings for his friend, and now "Hikaru" inherited those feelings.
