Also, to address Gardez70's comment from a long time ago... teaching one or two people isn't gonna do squat. The system is fundamentally set up that, so to get any real change, you'll have to destroy the entire system and build a brand new one -> and force people to accept that new system. Mr. Main Character is far far far too lazy to even try that.
We've been told that the expectation is that all three enemy kingdoms will attack with an army of 600,000 on the low end; his kingdom has an army of around that size too. I googled and I found this:
"Historically, and in practice, generally, an industrialized nation can mobilize approximately 10% of its total population in a full mobilization, for a “total” war."
With this in mind, we can estimate that the population of the country Mr. Main Character resides in has a population of around 6 million, or more. Let's round down to 5 million "to play it safe."
I googled and I also found these:
"In Athens, slaves made up a third to a half of the population from the 5th to the 3rd centuries BC."
"Scholars estimate that between 10% and 20% of the Roman Empire's population were enslaved"
"In 1806, the Domesday Book indicated that 10% of the population was enslaved."
Applying this logic with the rounded down 5 million number and using the lowest number of 10% -> there are approximately half a million slaves. 50,000 slaves being bought at once is a LOT, no doubt, but if you mobilize the entire slave trade (as the merchant said he did) to get it done, then it is totally manageable.
As for the cost, the war being waged is literally because Mr. Main Character is literally too rich and must be stopped. So... my suspension of disbelief is Fine™

This guy is now my favorite non-main character.

Also, like bullocks is the prophecy gonna be true. It's literally human extinction which Zero tried to do and you obviously stopped that. You'll stop this one for sure!
The images of seeing his friends and remembering their dead bodies is certainly impactful. Mr. Main Character is a jerk, undeniably so, but he's always valued stuff that's "his." At the very start, he just made sure not to value others because he was doing just that... and ended up pretty hurt by it. So he was alone, which resulted in what kicked off the manhwa.

You, who is without mercy, now beg for it. Did you ever treat them kindly? Did you value them as customers? Or did you dig in your heel some more when they pleaded to you?
Literally your previous statement:

Don't delude yourself. You were comfortably looking down on them because you, alone, had power. Your destiny was destruction when laws were ignored -> ending with your head on a pike. This fate is far more generous than you deserve.

Sounds absurd? Yes. This is Baki we're talking about.
Every single encounter would become a competition. Safety? They're not even remotely worried about it.

This happened in Baki too (like, the mainline series), when a big (not literally) rich guy was sponsoring Retsu in national and championship boxing matches despite Retsu missing a leg. The sponsor laid out the money on the table and leaned back on his chair, putting his legs up around the money. The expectation was for Retsu to obediently collect the money which affirms that the sponsor is above him.
Obviously, that did not fly with Retsu. He put him in his place.
Besides, you threw the first punch and then the second and third ones too. This elbow is the fourth attack in this exchange.
