the arts not as good, but the interesting powers and plot are enough to justify at least giving it a try in my opinion.

Yeah and it being from Japan doesn't mean they have to be this partial to Japan, like the series petals of reincarnation has characters that all get powers from historical figures and out of like 50 something cast members with powers like five have Japanese derived powers and only like two or three of them were top tier characters, hell in that series the two strongest guys Powers came from China and Italy, and even when the powers had overlap they still went out of the way to give the powers distinct differences that made the fights entertaining, like how they had two undying people: one based on regeneration and the other one based on durability.

In hindsight it's foolish but giving his previously established personality traits it does make some sense, like I think he himself said it two or three chapters ago: that he thinks like the swordsman he was - not like the member of the Tang clan that he is now, tang clansman live and die by their affinity and usage of poison. He considered poison a last resort and a convenient means to deal with weaker people and large groups basically believing that he'll never need anything other than his sword techniques, this fight was him acknowledging that incorporating one into the other would be a benefit as opposed to just sort of leaving one to the side because it doesn't neatly fit with the thing he wants to do. Him not combining the two wasn't stupidity it was just bold-faced arrogance.

I like it if only because it's one of these "aloof, condescending overpowered" main characters that looks down on everyone and looks at every situation like he can easily deal with it suddenly hitting the realization that he probably should have dealt with it not just thought about how he could do it. Like it's him realizing that instead of trying to enjoy the fight more he should have just resolved the problem, it's a lesson that Goku didn't learn until the second time Frieza came to Earth. This acknowledgment that pragmatism is preferred sometimes to this "watch things and see how it plays out mentality" a lot of these characters tend to get after a while that often leads to them just leaving lives on the table because they don't handle any issue with a sense of urgency since it's not urgent to them.

He literally said how tho, previously he combined the Yang fire from that other poison with his ki, now he combined the Pure venomous ki he absorbed from the Tang family secret poisons with his ki and directly incorporated into his techniques. previously he would keep it separate and basically just use it as a store of extra ki and a poison for emergencies, now he actually Incorporated it into the attacks' nature- that's why the dragon dude started slowly decaying outwards from the wound. Like don't get me wrong it wasn't an in-depth explanation but he absolutely did say what he did.

Yeah they explained earlier that monsters like those worms were said to be descendants of that dragon's spilled blood, it's just that when previously explained they described it more as a myth or a legend then a verifiable fact. Like how a culture might have a story about birds being the reincarnated souls of people or something. Only now we have some confirmation from the nobles discussion that the legends were true.

This is one of those series that's either going to quietly run for like a hundred chapters and then end or get abruptly cancelled 30 chapters in. It's charming, cozy, entertaining and offers a unique spin on a familiar type of setting. The Art and designs are all kind of warm and pleasant in a way that I haven't felt since I read Beaststars. If it keeps going at this pace it's an easy 8/10 or more.

A lot of that was supposed to be farm equipment but she kept making them too hardcore, she does make weapons though.

I love when the author has a barely disguised fetish it's always funny to notice, for example the creator of fairly odd parents seems to have a thing for exotic women with beauty marks as everyone of his series has at least one explicitly as an object of desire. A follow-up example might be the entirety of the series "totally spies".

I don't remember clearly but I do remember two of them were gag series and one of them was technically taking itself seriously, I think one was prison School and he achieved enlightenment or something in his efforts to look at nipples, the other was some martial arts gag series, and I just have a very vague recollection of the third, also I think half the motivation of the main character of Aiki is pretty much this. I might have to revisit topic this myself.

Like yeah at least make it two different types of sword users like a knight or winged hussar or scimitar user or even just a goryeo swordsman or hell a Nagitana user make the fight weird.

If we're lucky this might just be a dragon Master again instead of romantic partner.
