It's the difference between sending a black ops squad to complete missions behind enemy lines during wartime versus just sending one to a peaceful country - you got to be a lot quieter one way and a lot less obvious.
The people from the continent are strong enough to kill demons but the regular hunters from Earth just don't seem to be like they literally just aren't high level enough, in regards to the main character it is 100% his ability to mimic s*** on site that made him as busted as he is because without it he would just be complete garbage in any fight that wasn't against demons.
I do believe the balance difference came from the fact that a lot of the s*** they're dealing with now was supposed to be patched into that game before the game became real life so it'll be the equivalent of Warcraft preparing to launch a new expansion and then the real world becomes Warcraft and then the expansion gets added no one's gotten to the new level caps, no one knows how to deal with the new mobs ,they added a whole new enemy type no one knows how to deal with it, no one's has builds made for the end of game stuff.
The type of man that dies happy and early.
If you're equally high level and can cause enough damage to destroy them faster than they can regenerate and have some means to resist corruption you should be able to hunt them (like how the mages and knights were able to hunt them in the ruptures he wasn't in) but generally speaking the humans of Earth haven't had power long enough to level up high enough to be able to fight them on equal terms, but demon hunters are able to completely negate stat differences and ignore all the status abnormalities they can cause while being able to damage them in a way that also negates their regeneration.
In terms of a standard fantasy game they might be the equivalent of high level undead where yeah other people can damage them and defeat them with great difficulty....but holy classes can just completely dog them out.
I'm not saying that twist your hoping for can't be done well I'm just saying they've written the bad guys as so aggressively evil and the good guys as so clear-cuttedly decent that trying to go for shades of Gray at this point without doing a lot of work from this moment forward just is very unlikely to come together in a satisfying fashion.
As it aside my initial point was just that given what we've seen so far that goat is probably something closer to an ancient god than a demon, much like that ocean God that gave the main character and The King their powers. Like it might enable her to do things that are awful but it won't make her, at least as far as we've seen so far from these creatures other than whatever initial sacrifice is needed, they want you to use whatever boon you have but they don't like make you. Even just earlier she's just talking with it and shooting points back and forth it's not commanding her to sacrifice people or anything (yet).
However if they left her entirely alone she would just grow up with its blessing and a loving family that all seem more or less moral who would teach her to value life in its many forms- but with no animosity towards the king or the empire, if however she were to say... continually hound her all her life and kill everyone she cares about she might use that god of the lands blessing to.... I don't know... kill the king and raize the kingdom in spite.
Inserted...sorta
