My logic is that he functions kind of like Frieza, he was holding back so he can play around a bit but then the guy suddenly hit him with some s*** he couldn't counter, except that falls apart because if he could flood a country he should at least be able to move the water out the way so he can breathe. Yeah actually you're right they made him too strong out of nowhere it makes that previous fight make no sense now.

The other options were all either too specialized or too naturally capable of massive collateral damage.
There was the spikeball one which had a really good role and apparently high damage with decent defense but that's kind of all it seemed to have so it's not really good for a situation where you have to avoid casualties, there's that one that was just a boosted version of the plague dragon that would literally kill everybody around him just by him being there, there was the big heavy slow as s*** one with maxed out defense but limited attack potential and then automatic suicide bomb upon defeat, and then there was the Gorgon one that let you use a bunch of status ailments but didn't really seem to list other attack capability outside of status elements so if something can resist status ailment affects your just f*****. By comparison the one he went for was technically the most plain but it didn't seem to have any obvious drawbacks or hard counters and it was useful for what he's doing now.

Stealth dude just got clutched out by a dimension hopping horse, he has the weirdest luck going by this chapter, where he's just constantly adjacent to calamitous shit.

Was that expecting all the goblins to be naked found that very off-putting, also that Wyvern is shaped a little bit too much like a person, like if they got twisted and stretched into some kind of winged abomination.

The fact that they look like a bunch of '90s and '80s manga characters but they were just captured within a week is wild, was it hunting retro nerds, I mean it manifest as an older console game cartridge so maybe?

I mean there's countless animals that a serial killer could hunt in our world but they do specifically choose humans, I'm assuming it's about the same logic with him, he doesn't value life in general, but he gets a certain amount of pleasure from killing people specifically.

You might have been remembering the earlier section where she lost the rats to zombies and various monsters and they had to clear out the area before she could scout more.

He's not that bad, Like he's not top tier in terms of writing or motivation but I do at least understand more or less why he's like this, he's essentially a guy that if he had no power would just be a serial killer, who is suddenly given power and a leash, he realized very quickly if he f***** up too hard or too publicly he would lose that power completely and utterly but due to his whole serial killer nature he kind of couldn't not.
I at least appreciate that they highlight that he is just fundamentally not right in the head, it's less lazy than villains that are just evil because they're evil and they like being evil. He has the mentality some serial killers very much have which is "it's cool when I do bad things I'm justified just by the fact that I'm able to kill them, it means I deserve to live more than them, I can hunt men I'm a predator it means I'm above them, like a lion amongst sheep" it's delusional and unreasonable but it's at least a viewpoint where I could understand someone being the way he is if that's how they genuinely believed things worked.

Well no in the case of the rats it was that they were at out of her range of influence, she would lose connection with the rats because she was out of range, like they lost some above ground in an earlier area but she was still scouting with the rats she didn't lose until they were out of range, My and the other fellow's observation was that the crow guy is another scout and the range is based on where you are and seeing as he's with the party he should be able to scout ahead for them using the crows like he did this chapter, except for some reason he decided to scout ahead only after they were already in enemy territory kind of defeating the purpose of a scout.
