I have to know when he says "given head" is that literal or metaphorical. this is a very important distinction.(If it's the series I'm thinking of it's literal but God help me if it's not)

Whether or not it actually takes away his powers or just puts him in so much pain he can't actively do anything changes depending on who wrote it, mainly because there are multiple examples of him just sort of powering through the kryptonite slowly killing him to accomplish something superhuman, But ultimately the answer is it's comic books and if one writer gave a s*** the next writer didn't give a s*** so the whole thing is a mess.

I was going to contribute to his numbers but right now it's 4- 4 and I don't want to break equilibrium.

*See above comments*(Also outsider or not his mission is quite literally to help them that is why they were sent there, that is quintessentially his primary purpose there now that he saved that guy on the train, there's no actual in universe reason for him not to help, because he's not a defender of Justice he doesn't give a s*** about doing right or wrong purely what benefits him or doesn't, and losing allies on the mission to fight large groups of enemies wouldn't benefit him while keeping them alive would.)

Well the reason it causes pain instantly is because it's a comic book, but I like to think that whatever specific proportion in combination of radiation that comes off of kryptonite just triggers immediate violent cell death throughout his body, and because he has super senses that includes super touch which means he's feeling it very intensely, like under a yellow Sun not only is he at peek physique he basically doesn't lose cells they all just stay in perfect function, meaning that when he gets hit by whatever the radiation kryptonite does to him it doesn't just lower body function it's suddenly hits him with a thing he hasn't had to experience for most of his life and it does so in high proportion.

Actually radioactive isotopes give off one or (most often) several of four different types of radiation primarily, alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, and neutrons, we can surmise perhaps that kryptonite gives off some combination thereof that may naturally negate itself in some fashion when absorbed by humans leaving only alpha or beta particles, that once striking a Kryptonian cell causes some sort of chain reaction that's highly damaging, mainly because kryptonite does still damage humans but only after extended exposure meaning that it's most likely just giving off alpha particles, also it's a comic book so they have all b******* physics, like how there's other bits of kryptonite that just affect his brain chemistry as if they were a psychoactive drug instead of just causing general radiating pain.

The problem is we aren't watching most players, we're watching this guy who can easily solve a problem that the series is quintessentially named after, when we say this is a problem - we mean from a metatexual point of view not an in universe one. Regardless of how it's set up in the story the effect we get is that we are 4 chapters in and he is already resolved a supposedly major aspect of his character, without much actual struggle on display. It's like setting up a premise about how hard it is to climb mountains for a movie and within the first 5 minutes you're at the top of Kilimanjaro, no build up no struggle you're just there. It makes the very idea that this was supposed to be about how hard climbing mountains is seem pointless.

From a real world viewpoint yes, in universe though what they're doing is 1.state sanctioned 2. generally accepted as acceptable behavior in the region they're in 3.a method that while cruel was seemingly born from previous mercies just not working out (and generational hatred, lots and lots of generational hatred) either way though what this means is that the main character has no actual in universe reason to just stand there and watch them die when he could have very easily saved them, it actually makes less sense for him not to save them because they're down more people the less people he helps which means they're less able to fight other threats later on, plus the more people die the worse his report looks when he has to go back.

I'm really vibing with this ending, like yeah Sukuna is dead, but we still have s*** to do in the morning so we got to get back to the grind, it kind of reminds you that they were all students that just kind of got dragged into a bunch of high-level bullshit one thing after another through no major fault of their own. Kind of reminds me of how chill it was right after the namek saga when they were waiting for the Dragon balls to recharge and just sort of hanging out between threats like "that was some shit we just saw, anyways want to play golf?" It's paced more like a movie than anything else though so I suppose some people just aren't satisfied by this chill wrap up. But honestly I'd rather have that then setting up a sequel or having another big bad reveal last second or doing a big ass time skip out of nowhere so that you can just kind of skip the wrap up part of the last arc while also conveniently not actually having to resolve any character arcs because you skipped the part where they resolved, or just having a big satisfying conclusion and then doing another Arc right after that for no discernible reason that kind of fucks up your good ending or dragging your plot along further and further until the whole thing feels empty to read, no hype no excitement just a grim march to the end or the "super happy everything worked out let's not think about the people that died" wrap up.
