Whatever is introduced as the "Max Level" at the begging of a series is never the true max, just a starting goalpost to see how far the MC has come. And then you learn about the next level of power until that gets capped and there's another. this cycle will continue on until the series is actually over.

alright, so i decided to go back and reread, and have discovered that the only reason he chose warrior over magic is because mages were considered, as the series put it, "human buff machines". So yeah, I have to agree having the highest magic aptitude in the world, vs a mediocre warrior, the MC must've been straight rarded to even think about being a warrior.

ah then that was probably it. He thought it was more profitable to be a weak warrior than an ostracized mage.
