But IQ isn't knowledge, it's more akin to a skill or ability. IQ is mostly based on logic, and you can increase it by solving problems like how you would with mathematical problems. I don't see how talent would make a difference here. Have you not heard your math teacher tell you that before? IQ isn't about stuffing your brain with all sorts of facts, it's more about rewiring your brain to think differently. Talent may affect the efficiency of increasing one's IQ but it wouldn't make much of a difference in face of pure dedication and effort. Perhaps knowing how to apply logic in your everyday problems is affected by talent too but that can still be learned online for free. You can try to look up that study that someone did where he made his daughter play chess from a very young age. That daughter became the best women chess player in history. The question was whether a genius is born as a genius or they can be made iirc. Try learning chess too if you want a better perspective of it.

The usage of IQ scales with innate talent of the person? Can you elaborate? That sounded strange to me. I believe you are wrong and a stubborn man, but I will try to understand you at the very least.

It's not the largest. I believe hardwork and effort is. A person's future is all about the choices he make in the present. Talent and luck just opens up more paths, more choices, but traversing those said paths still requires effort and hardwork. Maybe for some people with overwhelming 'talent' they can get everything without hardwork and effort, but I do believe that in broader terms, in general, for an average man, hardwork and effort is still the largest contributing factor here. Btw, I also don’t agree with you when you categorised being 'smart' as talent. Even IQ can be increased, although difficult for older people, but it is still possible since IQ is reliant on logic. I believe smart people are those who made effort to learn, not those who are talented.

I also believe that your broad definition of 'talent' plays a huge part in life but I refuse to belive that hardwork and effort plays a smaller role here. Defy fate.

Physical exercise is actually a good way to grow balls of steel. There's no effort and time spent on worrying when youre tired and focused on a goal.

It makes me feel pathetic because it feels like I'm looking at my past self. Its hard to look at. I hate it. But I'm gonna stay and read since this is part of the journey.

The thing is he doesnt know how to tell her to not go without making the whole thing more awkward than pouring that battle unto himself. He's more worried that what he will say might end up affecting his gf than him drenching himself in water. It sounds stupid but thats just how it works. Its like, people would rather not eat dinner than be forced to talk to a cashier. Social anxiety can get that extreme.

Honestly, I get the comments saying that he should've just said it outright but that situation was so accurately done, a portrayal of what social anxiety is. If it was me back in the past I probably would've done the same.

Ive been to both situation, where either Im the most proactive or that Im the most silent. Its just a matter of who youre more comfortable with. When Im with loud and stuck up people and Im just tagging along cuz I need them for something (like a group project or something) I'll usually just stay at the back and talk as less as possible but when I'm with people who seems genuinely nice and stuff then I'll be the first to speak up even if the other person is shy and quiet.
